FAQs for DGEPZ03BLK Electric Pizza Oven

Q: I want to use this outside, but my outlet is too far away. Can I use an extension cord?

A: You can use an extension cord with this electric pizza oven! The most important thing to note, however, is that you MUST use a cord rated 14 - 10 AWG. If you use a weaker cord (i.e. 16 AWG or higher), the oven won't work at full strength.

Q: Can I use this oven indoors?

A: Yes, but you must ensure that proper ventilation procedure is observed - use your kitchen exhaust fan or range hood, open windows, or other outdoor openings to keep a constant flow of fresh air. Follow all placement instructions found in the manual.

Q: Should I use the grilling feature of this oven inside my home?

A: You can... but it depends on how much smoke your food will give off when using the grilling feature. Ask yourself two things - what kind of food are you grilling and would you cook that with a full-size grill inside? If it's smoky, do it outside.

Q: My oven didn't cook my pizza fast enough!

A: Remember to preheat your oven before cooking! In some cases, it's wise to preheat your oven for up to 15 minutes to ensure it reaches those high temperatures that cook your pizzas in minutes.

Q: My pizza cooked way too fast and was burnt!

A: Remember, pizza ovens cook at much higher temperatures than normal ovens. Your pizza will be fully cooked in literal minutes, sometimes less! Cooking in temperatures of at least 750 degrees, cook one side of your pizza for 90 seconds and rotate to the other side to cook for another 90 seconds.

Q: I'm noticing a strange smell when I'm using this oven! Is this defective?

A: It's important that the first thing you do before you use this oven, is to run it at max temperature for 15-20 minutes to ensure all assembly residues are burned off BEFORE you cook with it. These odors will dissipate with time.
